Quinny's Quest
A magical story comes to life!
At the heart of the Loop is Quinny’s Quest- a magical, interactive story that follows Quinny, a curious young bear on a journey of discovery.
With the help of a free app, users follow clues, collect “golden apples,” and uncover hidden corners of the Loop. Along the way, they learn about nature, history, and the value of caring for the world around them.
The adventure begins and ends at River Village Park, where the Quest Machine awaits.
Enter the secret numbers you’ve collected to discover if you’ve completed the Quest-and unlock a special ending.
Why kids (and grownups) will enjoy it:
-
Engaging and fun
-
Encourages outdoor play and learning
-
Combines adventure, imagination and place-based storytelling
PLEASE NOTE: While we've done our best to keep you on trails, some sections use unavoidable roadways. For your safety, please use caution.

Campbellton's
Parks & Trails
Places to Pause, Play, and Reflect
RIVER VILLAGE PARK
River Village Park is in the heart of Campbellton River Village, where nature, recreation, and storytelling come together.
Set along the Campbell River, it serves as the gateway to the Campbellton Loop and the beginning of Quinny’s Quest, an interactive experience combining art, history, and storytelling.
A place for both adventure and reflection, River Quest Park invites visitors to explore, connect, and experience the story of this special landscape.
RIVER NOOK
The River Nook is a little parkette tucked on the east side of the Tamarac Bridge. This special place overlooking the Campbell River was created from a collaboration between the Campbellton Neighbourhood Association and the City of Campbell River. It is enriched with public art, made possible with a grant from Island Coastal Economic Trust.
RAVEN PARK/BAIKIE ISLAND NATURE RESERVE
Raven Park/Baikie Island Nature Reserve has also been beautifully restored, offering a new parking lot and entrance trail, Indigenous art, and revitalized ecosystems in partnership with the Rotary Club of Campbell River. Before the restoration, you didn’t even know you’d arrived at one of the most beautiful places in Campbell River—a place rich with stories of transformation.
REFLECTION POINT
This small new park is the perfect place to rest and reflect. Overlooking the Campbell River, it’s quiet and calming—an invitation to sit by the water and just be.
“Sit by the water long enough, and life begins
to make sense.“
WOODBURN TRAIL
A beautiful path between Woodburn Road and Duncan Bay Main. At the end of the path, turn right to reach the Snowden Demonstration Forest’s extensive mountain biking trails, or turn left to follow the Canyon View Trail for prime fishing views.
KINGFISHER CREEK TRAIL
Just beyond the “soon-to-be” development is this peaceful path that runs through lush riparian habitat. This short but scenic trail offers a quiet escape and an opportunity to spot local wildlife along the waterway.
This historic home offers a charming bed and breakfast and a scenic riverside walking trail. One of Campbell River’s best-kept secrets: it’s open to the public.
Exciting changes are on the horizon-
thanks to a $6 million grant, new ball fields, a dog park, and more are in development.
Art & Storytelling
Whimsy. Wonder. Connection.
Local artist Alex Witcombe has infused the Campbellton Loop with creativity and curiosity. From carved bears to mysterious portals, his sculptures surprise and delight visitors of all ages.
Each work of art is rooted in the local landscape and invites you to slow down and look closer.
The Loop also celebrates:
-
First Nations teachings shared with care
-
Local history and community pride
-
Native plant identification integrated into signage
-
QR-coded story stations that connect the physical with the digital

Book for Purchase:
To bring the story home, the Quinny’s Quest book is available for purchase at select local businesses.
It’s more than a book—it’s a gift of experience. Imagine a grandparent handing it to their grandchild and saying, “Let’s go solve Quinny’s Quest together.” It’s the kind of memory that turns a trail into a treasured tradition.
